The narrative surrounding artificial intelligence is multifaceted and evolving rapidly. Every day there are dueling stories of its transformative potential as well as the counterpoint of the dynamic complexities it introduces to our society. As a result, it’s easy to ponder what your personal stance should be on the matter. If artificial intelligence is ushering in the next great economic revolution, how do we harness its power for good and not evil?

My view is simple. We can unlock unparalleled opportunities for advancement within our global society through the ethical use of AI by applying it to education. The big question that fuels my passion: how do we leverage AI to unlock the intellectual capacity of the human race to then solve the world’s biggest challenges? Yes, that’s a monumental task, but we must start somewhere… My answer: hyper-personalized education.

At Ahura AI, a company I founded seven years ago, our mission is to leverage the emerging AI technology to increase the speed of learning and ultimately improve the efficacy of education. Ahura AI’s adaptive learning solution retrains users by transforming the traditional model into a personalized journey that engages the user to learn new skillsets in the best way… In an environment specifically created for them. Our program is built on the foundation of the three leading indicators of learning: 1) attention and focus, 2) the coincident indicator and 3) the hyper-personalization of content. Because of this, our team understands that altering the modality of how we present content impacts the effectiveness of learning based on individual cues… It is not a one size fits all approach.

Our program has three phases culminating in the hyper-personalized delivery of content for each user:

  • Step 1 – Implement Basic Modification Tactics: When our technology is implemented within a learning environment, it leverages tactics such as nudging, notifications, behavioral modifications, feedback loops and other mechanisms like gamification to keep the user focused for longer periods of time.
  • Step 2 – Personalized Data Collection: In just one second, over 10,000 data points are collected through the user’s webcam, microphone and wearables, if desired. The data provides contextual mapping to determine how the user is interacting with the content and enables the learning experience platform to adapt the learning environment to increase user focus, and ultimately, the speed of learning with continued use.
  • Step 3 – AI-empowered Avatar Teacher: Through data collection over time, our technology culminates in the most personalized platform of learning constructed by AI. Creating a unique syllabus to the audience of one, the user’s avatar – or teacher – is developed based on personal data gathered. The result is endless opportunities to learn faster, and ultimately, increase and diversify skillsets to improve one’s personal journey.

In today’s economy where knowledge becomes outdated faster than ever before, continuously updating and customizing learning paths for the individual user is an absolute must for success. But, this personalized approach comes with great responsibility. And, at Ahura AI, we recognize the paramount importance of trust and accountability in the world of AI-driven solutions, where personal data is king. We adhere to stringent privacy standards, ensuring that user information is securely protected and used solely for the purpose of enhancing their learning experience… Nothing else.

Furthermore, our commitment extends to the ethical development and deployment of AI, where fairness, transparency and responsible AI practices are embedded in every aspect of our technology. Ahura AI is not just a learning assistant; it’s a promise of ethical, secure and privacy-centric innovation that places trust at the forefront of our mission. This is a promise we hope becomes commonplace in the utilization of AI across our global economy.

Led by the team at Ahura AI and the Future of Humanity Foundation, conversations are taking place around the world among a group of experts including impact-driven entrepreneurs, investors, experts, government officials and other like-minded artists, who will play a critical role in shaping responsible AI practices. This conversation continues this month at the Future of Humanity Summit in Washington D.C., the third event of its kind created to foster dialogue about the future of AI and how it can be used as a powerful tool to advance our evolutionary progression as a human species. The event schedule is packed with thoughtful panels and keynotes including “AI Ethics + Responsibility,” “AI Academics Doom vs. Acceleration,” “Intersection of Government and Industry,” and “Self-Sovereign AI – Building a Responsible AI Future.” All curated attendees have a shared passion to take part in meaningful dialogue and collaboration regarding the future of humanity.

To commemorate the forward movement of the event and its mission, attendees will be invited to sign the “Declaration of Artificial Intelligence for the Future of Humanity” to solidify their commitment to the ethical advancement of artificial intelligence. This Declaration creates a universal framework of principles to govern AI that are right, just and beneficial for the common good. But again, this is a monumental task that takes an unwavering commitment to privacy, the safeguarding of data and the ethical deployment of artificial intelligence… Not by one company, but all who utilize AI and similar emerging technologies. Will you join us?
