Philips Hue were some of the earliest color-changing, Internet-connected LED bulbs available to everyday consumers, but the biggest hurdle was always price. Today, you can get the starter pack for the lowest price ever. And if you’re already addicted to updating your lights to match your mood, you can add a few bulbs at record-low prices too.

The Philips Hue starter pack, currently available on Amazon for just under $170, comes with three bulbs that fit pretty much any fixture with a current A19 bulb, plus the Philips wireless hub to connect all your bulbs without bogging down your Wi-Fi. If you’d rather have some flood lights, the BR30 starter pack is available for slightly more than $181 (not quite the lowest price, but still a rare deal).

Philips hueAs for individual bulbs for adding to your current setup, an individual color-changing Hue bulb is available for $45 (another record low) and the dimmable, white only Hue Lux is down to $20. All of these bulbs have the long lifespan you’d expect from LEDs, as well as the energy savings. They are also compatible with other Zigbee connected-home devices, so this is a great first step into full home automation.
