GeekWire has been cranking out loads of technology news and analysis since it launched back in 2011. While we love writing about other companies’ technology and innovation, we actually haven’t written much about our own technology. As the site has grown, we’ve done more and more web development, and thought we could share some of what we’ve learned with the community.

webpage codeLike many sites on the web these days, GeekWire runs on WordPress. As a high-traffic site, we’ve had our growing pains and have had to work through optimizing WordPress to handle thousands of visitors at the same time. We’ve also worked with our share of fantastic and absolutely terrible WordPress plugins and are constantly customizing the site to meet the needs of our writers and advertisers.

The goal for the GeekWire Dev Blog will be to share web development stuff that we’ve learned along the way. Most of what we know about web development and WordPress we learned online, so we’d like to give back to the community and share a little bit of code in the process.

Stay tuned and thanks for reading GeekWire!
