Transportation Cluster – ClEd Talk (Climate Education Talk): The Elephant in the Garage – What to do about the legacy vehicle fleet
There are 1.5 billion vehicles on the road. Most of them predominantly burn fossil fuels, and so do most of the ones we’re still building.
โIn this inaugural ClEd Talk, Tom Gurski, Founder and CEO of Blue Dot Motorworks, will explore the implications of this fleet “inertia” on achieving our climate goal and why conventional strategies won’t fix the problem. We’ll examine several alternative approaches, including electrifying existing vehicles via retrofits.
