Legal Technology for Equitable Justice: Expanding Integrity, Privacy, and Education in an Ever-Evolving AI Landscape
In-person/virtual | CLE credits (6.25 pending) | Free to attend and open to all

Integrity is key to the rule of law and public trust in the legal system. And artificial intelligence has a transformative impact on the practice of law. Yet a lack of systematic proficiency, clarity, and governance over this rapidly evolving technology raises grave concerns about maintaining integrity throughout the legal system. This symposium explores how artificial intelligence offers both great promise to improve access to justice and equally enormous potential to entrench inequality. It examines its impacts on contract law, legal education, and the ethics of legal practice.

The TILE Institute’s 2026 Symposium is on the theme of “Legal Technology for Equitable Justice: Expanding Integrity, Privacy, and Education in an Ever-Evolving AI Landscape.”

This timely symposium, co-sponsored by the Seattle University Law Review, brings together experts in technology, private law, and legal education to discuss key legal issues regarding the implications of artificial intelligence on the practice of law. The panels will examine controversies and propose recommendations that harness artificial intelligence technology to enhance, rather than undermine, integrity and equity in the legal system.

Seattle University School of Law Jurist-in-Residence and Ninth Circuit Senior Judge Margaret McKeown will deliver a keynote address, and a reception will follow the Symposium.
