Roslyn Bernstein is a professor emerita of journalism and creative writing at Baruch College of the City University of New York (CUNY). She is the co-author with the architect Shael Shapiro of Illegal Living: 80 Wooster Street and the Evolution of SoHo. She is currently working on a novel set in Jerusalem in 1961 during the Adolf Eichmann trial.

Bernstein has reported on arts and culture from around the globe for such print publications as the New York Times, the Village Voice, New York Magazine, Parents, and the Columbia Journalism Review, and for such online publications as Tablet, Artslant, Tikkun, Huffington Post, and Guernica.
