Nick Hanauer is a Seattle-based entrepreneur and venture capitalist. He was the first non-family investor in Amazon and co-founded Second Avenue Partners, a Seattle venture capital firm. He has founded or financed more than 30 companies. Hanauer is also the founder of Civic Ventures, a public policy incubator, and host of the "Pitchfork Economics" podcast. He co-founded the Washington Alliance for Gun Responsibility and the League of Education Voters, and was an early advocate for Seattle's $15 minimum wage. He is the co-author of "The True Patriot," "The Gardens of Democracy," and "Corporate Bullshit."
