— Longtime Seattle-area marketing exec Brian Goldfarb took a new job as chief marketing officer at SolarWinds, the Austin, Texas-based publicly traded IT infrastructure company.

Goldfarb was most recently CMO at Maryland-based cybersecurity company Tenable, which he joined in 2021.

He also previously led marketing efforts at Amperity, Chef Software and Splunk.

“SolarWinds is an iconic brand within the IT community with a 25-year legacy of solving real problems for IT pros,” Goldfarb said on LinkedIn. “I’m honored to become a part of this legacy and help guide the business in its next phase of growth.”

SolarWinds reported $189.6 million in its most recent quarterly earnings, up 6% year-over-year. The company was hit with a major cyberattack in 2020 that impacted government agencies and also involved Microsoft.

Other notable personnel changes across the Pacific Northwest tech industry:

Stephen Mauri, a longtime gaming industry exec in Seattle who was GM and COO of PopCap Games and a former VP at RealNetworks, joined Sony in a corporate strategy and development role.

— Seattle-area contract management company Icertis hired former Sprinklr exec Carly Rogers as vice president of customer success for Europe.

— Silicon Valley-based remote work company Splashtop named former Microsoft exec Liat Ben-Zur to its board. She’s also an advisory board member at Seattle startup Syndio and investment firm WestRiver Group.

— Seattle-area venture capital firm FUSE promoted Nolan Van Nortwick from analyst to associate.

— Seattle wellness startup Yuzi named former TipHaus exec Steven Hooper Jr. as a strategic advisor.

— Digital services firm West Monroe promoted Amy Fletcher as its new office leader for Seattle.

Mike Wallace, a University of Washington professor emeritus of atmospheric sciences, was awarded as a recipient of the 2024 Japan Prize, which honors scientists and researchers in science and technology.
