— Harshit Shah, a former head of engineering at Amazon Web Services, is now chief technology officer at Boston, Mass-based healthcare software company Kyruus Health.
Shah, based in the Seattle region, most recently held the same position at Spring Health, a mental health company. He also previously spent a decade at Microsoft in various managerial roles.
Founded in 2010, Kyruus describes itself as a “care access platform” that develops various software products for health systems, hospitals, medical groups, and health plans.
The company raised a $42 million round in 2020. It has offices in the Portland, Ore., area and has several Seattle-area customers including Providence, Seattle Children’s, and the University of Washington.
— Ryan Asdourian, who spent the past two decades in various managerial roles at Microsoft, joined Lumen as chief marketing officer and executive vice president.
Asdourian started at Microsoft in 2004 as a software test engineer for Microsoft Office. He most recently helped manage security efforts for the company’s North America business.
Asdourian is also a former mascot for the Seattle Seahawks.

Based in Denver, Colo., telecom giant Lumen sells consumer and business broadband, voice, and data services. The company is led by former Microsoft exec Kate Johnson.
— Seattle-based Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center announced 12 recipients of the 2024 Harold M. Weintraub Graduate Student Award that recognizes exceptional achievement in graduate studies in the biological sciences. Read more about the winners here.
— Nori’s former CEO and co-founder Paul Gambill is no longer working for the Seattle-based carbon removal startup. In June Nori shared the news that Matt Trudeau had taken over as CEO while Gambill moved to chief product officer. Gambill will remain on the board and said by email that he’ll be “reading books, testing out new tech, going to Phish concerts, and maybe some travel before jumping into what’s next. But I do have ideas for the next project.”
Other key personnel changes across the Pacific Northwest tech industry:
- Jay Choi, a Seattle-based product exec, joined the board of Typeform, a form software company that raised $135 million in 2022. Choi is currently chief product officer at Gila and previously held the same role for more than six years at Qualtrics.
- Shawn Iadonato, founder and CEO of Seattle biotech company Kineta, is departing as part of the firm’s layoffs and restructuring.
- Marcus Lehto, a veteran game developer and co-creator of Halo, departed Electronic Arts, which announced that it will shut down Seattle studio Ridgeline Games. Lehto led the studio.
- Seattle climate tech startup Ever.green added Bill White as a senior advisor. White was previously mayor of Houston and a former U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy.
- Daniel Munoz, a former engineering leader at Aurora and Uber, joined Seattle-based off-road autonomy startup Overland AI.
