DocNow, a Bellevue, Wash.-based startup, raised a $2.5 million seed round to expand its platform that provides electronic medical records, helping providers connect patients to care needed after hospital stays.

The round was led by Waterline Ventures, an investor in early-stage, healthcare tech startups.

Dr. Kashif Saeed is DocNow’s co-founder and CEO. He launched the company in 2019 after a medical fellowship treating patients in post-acute care, which can include palliative care or rehabilitation. During the fellowship, Saeed saw an urgent need to more efficiently and easily manage workflow via a platform specifically designed for healthcare providers.

DocNow has partnerships with about 2,000 long-term care facilities. The technology integrates with multiple existing medical record platforms.

Editor’s note: Story was updated March 12 to add the amount of funding raised.
