Amazon will offer sellers the ability to quickly create new product listings using generative AI by providing a URL for their existing direct-to-consumer websites.

The feature is rolling out in the coming weeks to U.S. sellers on the Amazon marketplace, according to a post Wednesday morning by Mary Beth Westmoreland, vice president of Amazon’s Worldwide Selling Partner Experience.

Previous generative AI features released by Amazon include the ability to fill out a product listing starting with a few words, and to upload an image to automatically generate a product title, description, and attributes.

“We are finding that generative AI has a profound capacity to simplify the effort it takes for our selling partners to create great product listings, and we will continue to innovate upon these capabilities,” Westmoreland wrote.

More than 100,000 Amazon sellers have adopted generative AI tools for listing products, according to the post. The company encourages sellers to review and edit AI-generated content before submission. Nearly 80% of AI-generated listings are accepted by sellers with little modification.

Amazon says it has found AI-generated content to be clearer, more accurate, and detailed, aiding in product visibility and saving sellers time.

The company develops the AI features for sellers using foundation models from the Amazon Web Services Bedrock service.
