Twitch co-founder and CEO Emmett Shear is resigning, 16 years after he helped launch the game streaming platform owned by Amazon. Shear said he wants to spend more time with his newborn son, writing that “I feel ready for this change to tackle new challenges.” Twitch President Dan Clancy is now CEO; Shear will remain in an advisory role. Amazon bought Twitch for nearly $1 billion in 2014. Jamie Siminoff, founder of Ring, another Amazon subsidiary, stepped down from his CEO role earlier this month.
