— David Glick left his position as chief technology officer of on-demand warehousing startup Flexe. Glick spent nearly four years at Flexe, which raised $119 million million in July, pushing its valuation past $1 billion.
In a LinkedIn post, Glick said that he was “passing the torch” to Anthony Girolamo, Flexe senior vice president of engineering. Glick said he will take January off and will share his next move after that.
Prior to Flexe, Glick spent almost two decades at Amazon and was VP of Amazon’s transportation and fulfillment technologies. In 2020 he wrote a guest post for GeekWire on lessons learned from two decades in the logistics tech industry, titled “Robots aren’t taking over.”
Other key personnel changes across the Pacific Northwest tech industry:
- Connected RFID chip maker Impinj appointed Cathal Phelan, a member of its board of directors, as chief innovation officer. Phelan was formerly president and CEO of Rapt Touch, a touchscreen technology maker, and CEO of semiconductor manufacturer Ubicom.
- Seattle real estate startup FlyHomes, which helps people buy homes using a cash offer program, hired Andrea Collins as chief marketing officer and Dan Richards as executive vice president of mortgage.
- Juan Barraza joined VertueLab, a Portland nonprofit that supports climate tech startups, as director of innovation and entrepreneurship. He previously served seven years at Portland State University’s Center for Entrepreneurship, where he was most recently director. Abigail Van Gelder was promoted to be the new director.
