Entrepreneurs and small business owners looking for resources to help get things off the ground or boost an existing venture have a new online tool in the Seattle area.

  • The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce announced the launch this week of Community Business Connector, a website intended to help start and grow businesses through online resources that can help with such things as access to capital, business planning, marketing and technology, regulatory issues, and social services.
  • “After answering a few questions online, the platform matches businesses to resources immediately and connectors will follow up with businesses to help,” Vaughn Taylor, vice president of economic development at the Chamber, said in a statement.
  • The tool helps with the Connector program’s goal of making small business support more inclusive by assisting businesses facing challenges due to linguistic, cultural and geographic barriers, including economic impacts because of COVID-19. The program won this year’s Washington Economic Development Association (WEDA) award for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
  • The website is powered by Qwally, a Colorado-based software company whose platform helps cities engage with local businesses.
