Chainguard, a Kirkland, Wash.-based cybersecurity startup, raised $61 million in a Series B round.

The 2-year-old startup aims to help customers secure their “software supply chain,” a term used to describe a company’s software production line.

Chainguard, which focuses on open source software, says its annual recurring revenue has tripled in the past six months. Customers include Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Snowflake.

The company is led by CEO Dan Lorenc, a former Microsoft and Google engineer who is based in Rhode Island. He started Chainguard with Ville AikasMatt Moore, and Scott Nichols, former engineers at Google and VMWare who are all based in the Seattle region, in addition to Kim Lewandowski, a former Google product manager based in the Bay Area. Nichols left last year and is now at LinkedIn.

Investors include Spark Capital (which led the round), Sequoia Capital, Amplify Partners, the Chainsmokers’ Mantis VC, LiveOak Venture Partners, Banana Capital, K5/JPMC, and others. Total funding is $116 million.
