Microsoft made another 559 job cuts in the Seattle region on Monday, according to a filing with the state Employment Security Department (ESD), bringing the regional total to 2,743 layoffs since the company started making cuts in January.

The latest cuts, in Redmond and Bellevue, Wash., are part of the 10,000 global layoffs announced by Microsoft on Jan. 18. Job cuts made outside Washington state are not included in the ESD filings.

The latest round impacts areas of the company including Microsoft’s Security, Compliance, Identity, and Management organization, the division led by former Amazon Web Services executive Charlie Bell, as first reported by Insider on Friday and confirmed independently by GeekWire.

Microsoft is approaching its own deadline for making the 10,000 overall layoffs. The company said originally that the layoffs would be made between January and the end of March, the end of the company’s fiscal third quarter.

The company declined to provide details about the divisions impacted by the latest cuts. In general, the layoffs have been spread across the company, impacting a variety of Microsoft groups around the world.

Microsoft is one of numerous tech companies to make layoffs in recent months, including Facebook parent Meta, Amazon, and Salesforce, and many startups.
