Snowflake closed its deal to acquire a suite of migration tools called SnowConvert from Bellevue, Wash.-based software maker Mobilize.net.
Mobilize’s SnowConvert helps companies migrate legacy datasets onto the Snowflake data cloud by converting the database’s code to maintain its functionality. The company said SnowConvert has already converted more than 1.5 billion lines of code.
Snowflake, which brought on some of Mobilize’s employees as part of the deal, will be able to expand its professional services footprint in Costa Rica, Columbia and Bellevue, Wash., where the company already has an engineering office.
Terms of the deal, first announced in January, were not disclosed.
Mobilize is led by Chairman and CEO Tom Button, who has held the position for more than 11 years.
The company has never raised outside funding and ranked No. 44 on the GeekWire 200, our list of the top privately held startups in the Pacific Northwest.
In addition to the Snowflake deal, Mobilize has also agreed to sell its Application Migration Business Unit to Austin, Texas-based tech consulting and engineering firm Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP).
Snowflake previously acquired data app development company Streamlit in March; document automation platform Applica in August; and forecasting model company Myst last month. Snowflake was founded in 2012 and went public in 2020.
