Everett, Wash.-based Funko, makers of pop culture collectibles, is closing warehouse locations in the city north of Seattle and consolidating its distribution work in Arizona.

The Daily Herald newspaper reported the news Thursday, saying that the company operates two facilities near Everett’s Paine Field that reportedly employ hundreds of people.

“In an effort to better serve our customers and fans, Funko has made the decision to consolidate our warehouse operations to a single facility in Buckeye, Arizona in 2022,” a Funko spokesperson said in an emailed statement to GeekWire. “We will be working with our distribution center employees to support them through the transition, including potential relocation and/or other opportunities within the organization.”

The spokesperson would not provide details on how many jobs might be impacted.

The Herald pointed to a report by the Phoenix Business Journal from October which said an 863,000-square-foot facility that Funko is leasing in Buckeye, a Phoenix suburb, will employ about 360 people and the company will occupy the space by April 1.

Funko’s headquarters and a flagship retail store are located in downtown Everett. The company, which makes Pop! figurines and other merchandise tied to film, television, comics and more, was founded in 1998 and moved into the new space in 2017.

“Funko will continue its investment in the city of Everett and is currently hiring for dozens of positions across the company,” the company spokesperson said.
