— Cryptocurrency tax and accounting company TaxBit hired a chief technology officer and vice president of engineering.

Tramale Turner, CTO, previously was an engineering leader at Stripe’s Seattle office. He also spent time at F5 and Nintendo. Vivek Garg, vice president of engineering, was a director of engineering for Meta and previously spent 12 years at Microsoft.

Both roles will operate out of TaxBit’s Seattle office. TaxBit opened a second headquarters in Seattle last year. It raised $130 million at a $1.33 billion valuation in August.

Other personnel changes in the Pacific Northwest include:

  • Vouched announced several key hires to its leadership team. Naveen Neppalli, former senior engineering manager at Amazon, joined as vice president of AI, product, and engineering; Imran Khawaja, former senior engineering manager at Smartsheet, joined as director of engineering; and Tom Denn, former head of sales at Signal AI, joined as vice president of sales.
  • Goran Pljevaljcic, former vice president at Bionano Genomics, joined TwinStrand Biosciences as chief commercial officer.
  • Bryan Lares, former business strategy consultant for Azure data at Microsoft, joined ExtraHop as vice president of product.
  • Kimberly Ovitt, former vice president at Children’s National Hospital, joined Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center as vice president and chief marketing and communications officer.
  • Nick Kline, former principal engineer at Snowflake, joined Alitheon as vice president of engineering.
  • Red Russak, longtime sales leader at Seattle startup Apptentive, joined Stackline as director of sales enablement.
  • Richard Leary, former principal project manager at Parsons, joined HNTB as senior program manager of aviation.
  • Chandrika Shankarnarayan departed from Microsoft where she served as principal group PM manager for Dynamics 365 Customer Insights.
  • Guenter Haines, former national director at BIOTRONIK, joined Cardiac Dimensions as vice president of Therapy Development.
  • Angela Mascarenas, former CEO of Sherlock Financials, joined Stack, a cryptocurrency exchange startup, as head of product & community.
  • Four Seattle-based scientists were named to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. They include Caroline Harwood, Rachel Klevit, Steven Henikoff, and Harmit Singh Malik.
