David Barclay, former chief financial officer for DigniFi and Xevo, joined Esper as CFO.

Esper is a Seattle-based startup that sells software to remotely manage IoT devices. Founded in 2018, the startup aims to improve device management software solutions. It raised a $60 million Series C round in October.

Barclay will also serve as strategic advisor to Esper CEO Yadhu Gopalan.

“The company culture and commitment to DevOps innovation for device fleets perfectly complements my background and matches my passion for being part of high-growth startups,” Barclay said in a statement.

Other personnel changes across the Pacific Northwest tech industry:

  • Streem founder Ryan Fink is stepping down to spend more time with family. Fink sold the Portland, Ore.-based augmented reality startup to Frontdoor in 2019.
  • Teresa Foy, senior vice president at Bristol Myers Squibb, was appointed to the board of directors at Seattle-based Nanostring.
  • Vivianette Ocasio, former user experience designer at Phoenix Labs, joined Bellevue, Wash.-based Bungie to lead UX design for an upcoming unannounced project.
  • Mary-Pierre Waiss, fund manager at Apis Health Angels, was appointed as the founding board chair to Spokane, Wash.-based Evergreen Bioscience Innovation Cluster.
