— Silicon Valley HR startup Humu hired former Apptio CTO Scott Chancellor as CEO.

Chancellor spent three years at Seattle-area enterprise software giant Apptio, where he was also chief product officer. Apptio went private in 2019 through a nearly $2 billion deal with Vista Equity Partners.

Chancellor also spent time at Amazon Web Services and Hewlett-Packard.

Founded in 2017, Humu raised a $60 million Series C round in January. The company’s software provides personalized coaching for employees to develop skills and behaviors.

Other key personnel moves across the Pacific Northwest tech industry:

— Seattle tech exec Zoltan Szabadi, previously a leader at Amazon Web Services and Google, joined Waterloo-based indoor mapping company Mappedin as vice president of partnerships.

— Seattle VC firm Madrona Venture Group hired Joe Horsman, a former business development leader at Roche, as its newest investor to focus on early-stage investments in life sciences.

— Seattle customer training platform Skilljar hired Pat Hoey, a former sales exec at ON24 and BetterUp, as vice president of sales.

— Seattle space rideshare company Spaceflight hired former Amazon HR leader and U.S. Army vet Nick Glenn as vice president of human resources.
