T-Mobile is targeting travelers — in the air, on the ground and out of the country — with its latest “Un-carrier” promotion.

The Bellevue, Wash.-based wireless giant announced “Coverage Beyond” on Thursday, a suite of benefits for customers who want to stay connected while they’re on the move. The plan has three key components:

  • 5GB of free high-speed data worldwide: Applies in more than 210 countries and destinations for customers who are on the company’s Magenta MAX and Business Unlimited Ultimate plan.
  • Free in-flight connectivity with streaming: Will work on select flights on Delta, American and Alaska to start, with select United flights to follow and more airlines over time.
  • Travel perks elsewhere: Free year of AAA membership for Magenta, Magenta MAX and small businesses; 25 cents off per gallon of gas at Shell this summer through the week of Labor Day; and select deals with Priceline.

“Our mission is to be the best in the world at connecting customers to their world, and that means making sure your phone just works wherever you go — even if you travel beyond our signal,” T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert said in a news release.
