Teal Communications, a Seattle-area startup that sells a networking service used by Internet of Things device operators and others, raised $10.8 million as part of a Series A round.

Teal operates an “eSIM platform” that lets companies connect their IoT devices to thousands of carriers by installing a standard or physically embedded SIM card.

Teal CEO and co-founder Robert Hamblet was previously an engineer at Globetouch. He co-founded Teal Communications with Michael Johnston, the company’s chief business officer who was a management consultant for Microsoft and co-founded social purpose corporation Rallysong.

Backers include StageDotO Ventures; Stormbreaker Ventures; and Capital Eleven. The company is now valued at more than $100 million.
