GeekWire reporter Mike Lewis at a Seattle Sounders match.

You may know him as Seattle’s Storyteller. You may know him as the owner of Streamline Tavern.

And now, you’ll also know him as the newest reporter at GeekWire.

Please join us in welcoming Mike Lewis to the GeekWire newsroom!

Mike is a longtime Seattle journalist and editor who got his start in 2000 at the Seattle Post-Intelligencer as a politics reporter. The motorcycle-riding California native became known for his “Under the Needle” column that earned him the moniker of Seattle’s Storyteller.

After leaving the P-I in 2009 — and buying part of a Queen Anne bar shortly thereafter — Mike spent time at Patch.com, KPLU, and most recently as a radio host and reporter for KIRO 97.3 FM.

Now at GeekWire, Mike will focus on an array of topics, including the intersection of civic life and technology, reporting on how policy, transportation, regulation, housing, and more impact the innovation economy. He’s already bolstered our coverage of the historic unionization effort at an Amazon fulfillment center in Alabama. We can’t wait to see Mike break more stories and help serve GeekWire readers with his dogged reporting.

If you’re in Seattle and looking for a great dive bar, drop by the Streamline Tavern and say hello to Mike. Here’s a little more to know about GeekWire’s newest reporter:
