This week-old news doesn’t exactly qualify as a scoop, but it is ice cream related, so dig in anyway.

Straight from the billionaires-can-have-whatever-they-want files, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is apparently the new owner of his own in-home, soft-serve ice cream machine.

Los Angeles-based CVT Soft Serve, purveyors of a popular and proprietary chocolate, vanilla, twist recipe usually served from a couple cute trucks, put one of their CVTeeny machines in Bezos’ Los Angeles home. CVT owner Joe Nicchi posted about it on Instagram, sharing a photo of himself with a bunch of boxes in front of a mansion gate.

“I don’t expect you to believe what I’m about to tell you, but it’s 100% true,” Nicchi wrote. “I’m still trying to mentally process this. I just did an ice cream delivery to a guy that now has CVT on tap in his house 24/7.⁣ Thank you Jeff Bezos for being our first residential #CVTeeny client.⁣ What. The Actual. F***?!?⁣”

Vice first spotted the social post and tried to get Nicchi to offer more details, including how much a personal soft serve machine might cost, but no such luck.

CVT and its East Coast transplant owners bill their product as the “best-tasting soft serve ice cream west of the Atlantic.” The CVTeeny machine for Bezos is the first installed in a home and not in a restaurant. The machines look like a little version of the company’s cream and brown trucks.

Business Insider guessed that the machine had been installed at Bezos’ Beverly Hills mansion, which he purchased in February 2020 for $165 million. Other reports pointed out that Bezos has an obvious soft spot for ice cream. He’s been previously spotted at Milk Bar in New York City.
