“The Joker” was laughing at the rest of Hollywood on Monday morning with a leading 11 Oscar nominations, including best picture, lead actor and director, but Netflix again streamed its way to the top of pack, besting all studios with 24 nominations.

  • Netflix rode the strength of numerous films, including “The Irishman” (10 nominations), “Marriage Story” (six) and “Two Popes” (three). Martin Scorsese’s “The Irishman was shut out at the recent Golden Globe Awards.
  • Amazon Studios’ awards strength is generally around its television programming — “Fleabag” had another great night on Sunday at the Critics Choice Awards. But the studio did manage another Oscar nomination this year, for “Les Miserables,” a French film competing in the Best International Feature category. Amazon won three Oscars in 2017 — a first for a streaming service.
  • The 92nd Academy Awards will take place Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. on ABC. Full list of nominees here.
