Travelers looking for a quicker way to get between Seattle and Portland will have a new option this spring as JSX plans flights between the cities for $49 one way.

  • The California-based “hop-on” jet service first arrived in Seattle last summer, and uses Boeing Field rather than Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. JSX says the airport closer to downtown Seattle allows travelers to avoid traffic and the hassles of long airport security lines. JSX passengers can arrive at Boeing Field’s private terminal 20 minutes before their flight and bring free luggage along for the ride. The flight is 50 minutes.
  • The service says on its website that it will offer five round trip flights per day on weekdays and three or four round trips on weekends, starting April 2. JSX, which uses 30-seat Embraer 135 aircraft, is already targeting tech industry travelers with flights between Seattle and Oakland in the Bay Area.
  • Anyone who has made the trip between Seattle and Portland knows how bad the 3-hour drive has gotten during heavier traffic times. Commercial flights out of Sea-Tac and Amtrak train travel are also an option, as is the bus, including FlixBus, a service that promises to get you to the Rose City for just $9.99.

JetSuiteX rebranded to JSX to distinguish itself from its sister aviation company, JetSuite.
