The campaign’s website uses a self-screening tool based on Microsoft’s Plasma Bot to recruit COVID-19 survivors.

A coalition of institutions from life sciences, technology and philanthropy launched a new campaign called “The Fight Is In Us,” seeking COVID-19 survivors to donate plasma containing antibodies for transfusions and the long-term development of a therapy to fight the disease.

The campaign uses a version of Microsoft’s “Plasma Bot” to lead potential donors through a series of questions to help determine their eligibility. It’s seeking tens of thousands of donors within two months of their recovery from COVID-19 to ensure an adequate concentration of disease-fighting antibodies.

Partners include medical research institutions such as the Mayo Clinic along with plasma companies, blood centers, healthcare groups, media organizations and COVID-19 survivor groups. Microsoft is providing technology, and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is serving in an advisory role. See “The Fight Is In Us” for more.
