Twitch inked an exclusive deal with esports star Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek as he returns to the Amazon-owned streaming platform.

Shroud was previously with Microsoft’s Mixer, which shut down in July. He was estimated to have lost roughly 85% of his audience in the move away from Twitch, where he has 7.1 million followers.

“I am so excited to be able to announce my return to Twitch and more importantly get back to streaming,” Shroud said in a statement. “Twitch is where I was able to first turn my passion for streaming into a successful career — and it is all due to my incredible and loyal fanbase. As I was exploring options, I realized that there was no better place than Twitch to engage with the best and most loyal gaming community worldwide.”

Fellow esports star Ninja, who also moved from Twitch to Mixer last year, began streaming on Twitch again last week and has streamed on YouTube but does not have an exclusive deal with either platform.

Microsoft reportedly paid Ninja $20 to $30 million per year to join Mixer.
