If you’re already spending countless hours playing video games during the pandemic quarantine, why not get paid for the effort? HighSpeedInternet.com, an internet service provider comparison site, is offering $1,000 to one lucky player who logs 50 hours on Nintendo’s “Animal Crossing: New Horizons.”

Participants must have access to a Nintendo Switch, the popular new video game and be a U.S. resident age 18 or over. The application form also requires entrants to run an internet speed test.

“We’re hiring someone to take an island vacation, no plane or packing required,” HighSpeedInternet said.

A winner will be chosen on Aug. 6 and that player must complete the 50 hours of playing time by Sept. 30.

“Are you stuck repaying endless debt to ol’ Tom Nook?” HighSpeedInternet asked in reference to the central “Animal Crossing” character. “Tired of catching fish, digging up fossils, and shaking trees just to make ends meet? Are the fruits of your labor enough to pay off the mansion of your dreams?”

“New Horizons,” which was released in March, came at just the right time for a world on lockdown. With its themes of escapism and isolation-induced gameplay, players earn money to pay off debt by collecting bugs, foraging for salable goods, building equipment, tending a garden and more.

Nintendo announced in May that it had sold more than 13 million copies of “New Horizons,” making it the top seller in franchise history.

HighSpeedInternet ran a similar promotion last year when it offered $1,000 for 50 hours of “Fortnite” play.
