Richard Wang has returned to Coding Dojo as president following his departure as CEO in 2017. Michael Choi has moved from the role of CEO to chairman at the Seattle-area startup, which runs coding bootcamps for aspiring developers.

After co-founding Coding Dojo, Wang served as vice president of digital marketing and e-commerce at pet insurance company Trupanion, a position he left in January.

“This company has helped thousands of students advance their careers or start entirely new ones. The sense of fulfillment I get from working here was a huge factor in my decision to return,” Wang told GeekWire in an email.

“Learning English was the ticket to a better career and life in China, and I see parallels to how coding skills can lead to a better life in America now,” he said.

Dawn Lyon joined real estate tech company Zillow Group as chief corporate relations officer. Lyon was most recently at Glassdoor, where she served as chief reputation officer and SVP of corporate affairs.

Lyon has worked with Zillow in the past as a consultant. Both Glassdoor and Zillow were co-founded by former Expedia CEO Rich Barton. She’s also the founder of LyonSHARE Communications Group and has held senior communications roles at eBay, Chevron and Amtrak.

“Dawn has been a key advisor to Zillow Group and our leadership for many years through some of our most monumental milestones. She brings immense functional expertise and knowledge at a critical time as we work to further transform real estate and turn home buying and selling into a seamless, on-demand experience for consumers,” Barton said in a statement.

Promethean, a company that makes interactive technology for the classroom, landed Britt Provost to lead its human resources efforts. Provost came from business software firm Apptio, where she was executive vice president of people and culture.

Promethean is known for its touchscreen classroom displays and lesson software.

“I come from a family of teachers. And, my grandmother, Della, taught hundreds of teachers to teach,” Provost told GeekWire in an email. “With this in mind, I was very excited to join a global market leader in educational technology, that aligned my previous leadership experience, with my passion for education and creating opportunity. It felt like I was finally getting into the family business.”

— Software firm NetMotion landed Justin Sollenne as chief financial officer. Sollenne was previously CFO at Sentek Global, a technology services firm specializing in cybersecurity for the U.S. government. Prior to Sentek, he was CFO at iboss Cybersecurity.

“I’m honored to be joining NetMotion during its record-breaking period of growth,” Sollenne said in a statement. “I look forward to working with the company’s passionate leadership team to help guide the business to the next level.”

Seattle-based NetMotion creates software to help IT departments monitor real-time data and analytics, including a platform to keep tabs on corporate smartphones.

Steve Davis is stepping down as CEO of PATH, a Seattle nonprofit organization with 1,500 employees that work on global health challenges.

“It has been a great privilege to serve as president and CEO of this incredible organization for the past seven years and work alongside colleagues who are passionate about innovation and social change, and believe in the global work PATH is doing,” Davis said in a statement.

“Together we have strengthened our international programs and leadership, deepened and expanded our partnerships around the world, evolved our brand to reflect PATH’s role as a leading enterprise in global health innovation, and significantly improved our operations to advance the large-scale social progress that lies at the heart of PATH’s mission.”

“The Board of Directors and I congratulate Steve on his upcoming transition, and on the transformation he has led at PATH and within the broader global health sector over the past seven years,” PATH board chair Dave King said in a statement.

The Puget Sound Business Journal first reported the news of Davis’ departure.

Puppet‘s chief product officer Omri Gazitt has left the company but will remain on the product advisory board at the software development tech firm. Earlier this year, Puppet appointed Yvonne Wassenaar as CEO after raising $42 million last summer.
