A consumer version of Microsoft 365, the bundle of some of the tech giant’s top programs and services, is on the way next year.
ZDNet reports that an announcement of the long-rumored consumer version Microsoft 365, also known as M365 Life, is set for spring 2020. Microsoft was planning to announce the bundle at this year’s Build developer conference, ZDNet reports, but decided to push it off.
Microsoft declined to comment.
Microsoft 365 combines Windows 10 Enterprise, Office 365 and Enterprise Mobility and Security. Microsoft offers several versions of Microsoft 365 for different types of commercial and education customers.
ZDNet reports Microsoft 365 Life will largely be a re-brand of the existing Office 365 Personal and Home with similar subscription prices. A rumored consumer version of Microsoft Teams is also expected to be included as part of Microsoft 365 Life.
In its 1990s heyday, Microsoft commanded a huge share of the computing world, among both businesses and consumers. Most of its resurgence under CEO Satya Nadella has come with a focus on big businesses. However, Microsoft continues to have some important consumer-oriented divisions, including Surface and Xbox.
