Microsoft was having major issues with Xbox One on Wednesday that appears to be related to Xbox Live and was causing users to be greeted by a black screen during the startup sequence.
The Xbox Support Twitter feed was working overtime with a series of posts about what was identified as “console startup, title update and sign-in errors.” The Xbox Live Status web page — which also seemed to be suffering some sort of glitch — also reported that Microsoft believed it had identified the issue causing some members to have trouble logging in.
Update: A new tweet from @XboxSupport just before 12:30 p.m. PT said that the problem had been resolved. And the Xbox Live Status page had everything checked as normal.
The issues surrounding Xbox One console startup, sign-in, title update errors, and our status page have now been resolved. Thank you for sticking with us while our teams addressed these issues and we appreciate the reports. As always, we're here and we're listening.

The seriousness of the issue — in which gamers thought they were dealing with a broken console — was certainly conveyed in more than one tweet.
