Funko’s original store, a corncuopia of pop culture fandom in its hometown Everett, opened in 2017. At 40,000 square feet in a prime location on Hollywood Boulevard and set to open toward the end of the year, the new store has a chance to become a major tourist attraction.

“It was a no-brainer to open our second retail location in the television and film mecca of the world – Hollywood,” Funko CEO Brian Mariotti, said in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to have a presence among the most influential production studios and creative talent delivering pop culture content.”

Under the motto of “everybody is a fan of something,” Funko has steadily added more themes of the popular Pop! collectibles such as a new line featuring Fortnite characters. It has also branched out into other areas like board games, with the recent acquisition of Seattle studio Forrest-Pruzan Creative.

Funko went public in 2017 and got off to a rough start. It has rebounded, returning to its IPO stock price last summer. Since then Funko stock has risen another 59 percent.
