Seattle-based mobile analytics and marketing company Tune hired Bhavana Mathur from Apptio to be its new vice president of product management. Mathur was the senior director of product management at Bellevue, Wash., based Apptio.
Mathur has also worked on product management at travel company Expedia and insurance software company Vertafore. Prior to that, she held engineering positions at software firms Informatica and SuccessFactors.
“Bhavana is an exceptional product leader with a track record of creating innovative ideas and turning them into category defining products,” said Tune chief technical officer Dan Koch in a press release. “I’m thrilled to have her on the team and am confident her bold thinking and technical leadership will enable us to deliver leading measurement and partner management technologies to our global customers.”
Tune, which is number 14 on our Pacific Northwest startup index GeekWire 200, has been going under a restructuring in the past months, cutting 30 employees last September and then 11 in April. After the layoffs in September, Tune returned to profitability. Four key executives have also departed recently.
— In another departure from Tune, director of product Brent Roraback is leaving the mobile marketing company to join Rover, the Seattle-based online dog-sitting marketplace. Roraback was at Tune for five years, where he worked on the company’s Attribution Analytics product.
At Rover, number 17 on the GeekWire 200, Roraback is now the director of product for the company’s on-demand services. He has almost 20 years of digital media experience, and has worked in various product management roles at Amazon, digital media company AdReady, and Microsoft.
“Rover has built an amazing business – and team – over the last seven years, and continues to expand at a breakneck pace (we launched in the UK just this week),” Roraback said in an email to GeekWire. “For me, on-demand dog walking is one of the most exciting products at Rover, leveraging Rover’s rich data and marketplace technologies while tackling an interesting set of customer experience and business challenges.”
In May, Rover announced a $115 million funding round, making it one of the most highly valued privately-held startups in the Pacific Northwest. The startup’s total funding stands at $310 million. And in March of 2017, Rover acquired its biggest competitor, DogVacay.
Editor’s note: Roraback is the husband of GeekWire contributing writer Lisa Stiffler.
