News brief: The creators of the streaming television series “Stranger Things” are being sued by the director of a six-minute film who says Matt and Ross Duffer ripped him off in making their Netflix hit. The Hollywood Reporter said Charlie Kessler is suing for breach of implied contract, arguing that “Stranger Things” is based on his film “Montauk” and a feature film script titled “The Montauk Project.” Kessler reportedly pitched the brothers at a 2014 party.
