News Brief: Two NASA spacewalkers repositioned a pair of spare coolant pumps outside the International Space Station today during a 6.5-hour outing. A faulty ammonia pump nicknamed “Leaky” was put into long-term storage while another spare pump, dubbed “Frosty,” was maneuvered into position on the station’s robotic arm for testing later this week. NASA’s Drew Feustel and Ricky Arnold also replaced camera and communication components on the station’s exterior and took on some get-ahead chores. Meanwhile, down below on Capitol Hill, senators used a congressional hearing to make their case for extending space station operations through 2028. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla., said that cutting off funding in 2025, as the White House wants to do, “would be irresponsible at best and probably disastrous.”
