Most of the television and film science fiction we watch these days makes us fearful of the coming rise of the machines. Short of zombies, it’s the robots that will surely get us, right? Well, it’s nice to be reminded that something big and scary from the distant past can still do the trick.

The latest trailer for “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,” released Wednesday morning, is heavy on dinosaurs showing us how quickly they could eliminate tiny humans if given the chance again.

“These creatures were here before us,” says Jeff Goldblum’s Dr. Ian Malcolm. “And if we’re not careful, they’re gonna be here after.”

Of course, they’re still here because humans can’t stop messing with science. And the powers that be can’t resist going back to the island and tapping back into dino DNA to create an ultimate fighting machine.

When the most dangerous creature to ever walk the Earth is revealed, Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) asks, “What is that thing?”

“They made it,” a little girl replies.

Of course they did.

“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is in theaters June 22.
