Over the past week, readers from GeekWire and The Evergrey have shared their genuine curiosities and questions about one of Seattle’s biggest challenges: the thousands of people sleeping outside.

Homelessness is a big and complex problem, one that has ignited a fierce debate between Seattle government, the tech and business community, neighbors, and activists over the past year. We might not always see eye-to-eye on how to best address the problem but everyone agrees that it must be addressed.

To make a dent in Seattle’s homelessness crisis, we first need a better understanding of it. That’s why GeekWire has partnered with The Evergrey to ask readers to share their questions about homelessness with us. We received 233 thoughtful, impassioned questions and narrowed them down to three that we think would be most valuable to answer for our readers. The Evergrey selected three questions of their own, which you can vote on here.

Cast your vote below for the question you would most like to see GeekWire explore and we’ll get to work answering it.

On July 19, this project will expand to even more local news outlets as part of the #SeaHomeless media day. Crosscut, Real Change, SeattlePI.com, and Patch will ask their audiences to share questions for them to report. Check out GeekWire and The Evergrey on July 19 for stories based on your questions.
