You might not need another smart speaker in your house, but a smart-aleck commercial about not-so-smart speakers is worth your time.

The folks at Sonos are touting the new Sonos Beam, a $399 addition to its system of home sound equipment. The Beam comes enabled with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant out of the box.

In a commercial featuring two guys who are trying to navigate the difficulties of couch life, Sonos and Alexa end up looking pretty smart. As the guys sit down to watch a game on TV, one of them ends up identifying at least seven smart devices in his living room which control everything from the TV to weather reports to toilet paper orders.

An attempt at ordering a pizza through one smart speaker turns off the lights.

Only the Sonos Beam eventually gets it right, as Alexa turns on the game and turns up the volume. “Gooooooalllllllll!”

The device will ship globally starting July 17 and is available for pre-order today on the Sonos website.

Also, it looks like Sonos is right at (smart) home making other speakers look ridiculous in its ads. Check out poor Cheryl, below, trying to start her morning play list:
