What’s the best way to beat the nightmarish traffic in Seattle? We decided to find out. GeekWire reporters raced a car, ride shares, a bike, a high-tech skateboard and the good old bus system to find the most effective way through rush-hour traffic. We share our lessons learned and takeaways on this episode of the Week In Geek.

Also on this episode: Juno Therapeutics’ new HQ is built to destroy cancer, why the Seattle Sounders ditched Ticketmaster, a former Microsoftie opens a motel and camping chain for outdoor adventurers, and Microsoft opens a mysterious office in a town a ferry ride away from Seattle.

On the Random Channel this week: the U.S. Navy is using Xbox 360 controllers; reporter Kurt Schlosser previews the new season of Amazon’s Transparent; Amazon rolls out new ‘Star Trek’ features for Alexa (which leads us to revisit this great Family Guy bit); and reporter Taylor Soper explains why he’s a fan of MTV’s “Are You The One.” Podcast producer and life sciences reporter Clare McGrane also joins us this week.
