People are stressed. Unwinding, however, can be as easy as turning on your Xbox. In fact, gaming has become so popular that for some men, it’s better than sex as a way to let off steam, according to a new study.

Among 251 men surveyed in a University College London study, discovered by Esquire on Thursday, 29 percent used video games to relieve stress. Only 27 percent chose having sex or watching porn to help them cope.

The most popular stress-reliever for men, however, remains talking with friends, with 74 percent of men saying that’s their first choice.

Neither video games nor sex are popular ways to relax for women. Of the 240 women who participated in the study, only 11 percent chose sex or porn as a way to relieve stress. Most women opted for reading, friends or art.

The survey follows a 2010 Texas A&M study that found both men and women who play violent video games tend to handle stress better.
