Steve Bannon accused the Washington Post — and its owner, Jeff Bezos — of intentionally targeting conservative politicians, hours after the newspaper published stunning allegations against Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore for sexual misconduct with teens.

“It’s interesting,” Bannon said addressing conservative activists Thursday evening. “The Bezos Amazon Washington Post that dropped that dime on Donald Trump is the same Bezos Amazon Washington Post that dropped the dime this afternoon on Judge Roy Moore. Now is that coincidence? That’s what I mean when I say opposition party. It’s purely part of the apparatus of the Democratic party.”

Bannon’s comments, first reported by CNN, refer to a now-infamous Access Hollywood tape in which Trump talked about using his fame to grab unwitting women. The Washington Post obtained and released the footage weeks before the 2016 election.

Bezos is both Amazon’s CEO and the Post’s owner, making him a frequent target of conservative ire.

Bannon, the face of conservative news site Breitbart and former White House chief strategist, has supported Moore in his quest to fill the Alabama Senate seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Four women told The Washington Post Moore pursued them as teenagers when he was in his early 30s; none say they were coerced into sexual contact. The Post report is based on interviews with more than 30 people.

It’s the latest in a series of sexual misconduct revelations, not bound by party affiliations and cross industries from politics, to Hollywood, to media.

To the public, there appears to be no love lost between Bezos and Bannon. That may be true but neither leader seems willing to let bad blood get in the way of good business. An activist group called Sleeping Giants released a list of 2,600 companies who pulled ads from Breitbart News back in August. It didn’t include Amazon.

In a tweet Thursday, Sleeping Giants claimed that Amazon continues to advertise on Breitbart. We’ve contacted Amazon and Sleeping Giants to find out if the company is still advertising on the site and whether that will change.
