Seattle Mayor Ed Murray will not be seeking re-election for a second term because of sexual abuse allegations that are “hurting this city,” though he continues to vehemently deny the legitimacy of the claims. He made the announcement Tuesday morning at Seattle’s Alki Beach. By stepping aside, Murray makes room for more than a dozen candidates seeking the city’s highest executive office.
