Two Seattle real estate tech companies are showing a lot of interest in one very famous homeowner with property in the North Pole.
The Zillow listing for Santa Claus’s toy-making paradise shows that just like everywhere else, home values in the North Pole are on the rise. The Zestimate for the 3-bedroom, 2-bath log home has increased 6.5 percent since last winter, to $710,559.
The property has been improved (by interior designer Marian Bright and general contractor Doug Fir) with additions such as hot cocoa on tap. And the listing has been upgraded as well, with Zillow’s 3D tour of the tiny homes in the Elf Village surrounding Santa’s place. There’s also a video walkthrough of the main house:
That all looks pretty cozy and perfect to us, but according to Redfin, Santa is pulling an Amazon and is searching for a second home to mirror his North Pole headquarters — NP2, if you will.
Redfin says that NP2 could “boost the economy, increase jolliness and spike holiday spirit for the lucky city chosen,” and goes on to rate 10 cities that are leading contenders to play host to a massive toy workshop.
Criteria such as home affordability, bakeries per capita, toy-making talent and annual snowfall totals were considered.
Cleveland came out on top with a median home price of $140,000 and annual snowfall of 61 inches per year. Check out Redfin’s story for the breakdown on other cities.
