They told us not to look directly at the sun during the eclipse. But there’s always that guy in the crowd.
President Trump stepped onto a balcony at the White House with First Lady Melania Trump on Monday for a glimpse of the solar eclipse. At one point he removed his protective eyewear and glanced toward the sky.
Whether or not Trump did irreparable damage to his retinas remains to be seen. But the internet is rarely blind to any meme-worthy moments, especially when they involve someone as high profile as the president.
With a flock of news media capturing his every move, images of Trump’s seemingly reckless glance moved across the web like a shadow across the United States: with much deliberation and millions of people watching.
