Pop culture geeks who love a good trip to the mall will have a new destination come Friday, when ThinkGeek opens at the Tacoma Mall. It’s the second Puget Sound location for the popular purveyors of collectibles, apparel, toys and more — the chain opened it’s first West Coast store in Seattle’s Northgate Mall last year. The grand opening event in Tacoma will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature prizes, giveaways and a cosplay contest. The first person in line (similar openings have attracted hundreds of geeks) will receive a Golden Timmy — the store’s monkey mascot. Tacoma Mall is located at 4502 S. Steele St.
