Of all the crappy roles in Hollywood.

Patrick Stewart, celebrated British thespian and one-time captain of the starship Enterprise, is taking on a new role that some would sum up by simply foregoing words and using a little brown emoji with googly eyes instead.

Stewart, 76, will be the voice of the poo pile in “The Emoji Movie,” an animated feature due this summer that promises to “unlock the never-before-seen secret world inside your smartphone.”

Stewart is not listed among cast members on IMDb, but The Guardian reported on his role Wednesday and that’s definitely his voice in a trailer that came out last month. Other stars attached to the Sony Pictures offering include T.J. Miller of HBO’s “Silicon Valley,” Steve Wright, Ilana Glazer, James Corden and Rob Riggle. The film is directed by Tony Leondis.

On the YouTube teaser below, thumbs down were running 3-1 ahead of thumbs up on the video, which was approaching 1 million views. Fans obviously wish “Star Trek’s” Jean-Luc Picard would make it “no” instead.
