The bluest skies you’ve ever seen are in Seattle, so the song goes. But the biggest sky penis is over Okanogan County, it seems.

A crew flying out of the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, north of Seattle, is to blame for graphic skydrawings that showed up in the skies over the Omak area of central Washington, alarming local residents this week.

According to KREM 2 out of Spokane, a woman shared pictures of the puffy male genitalia with the TV station because she was concerned that she might have to explain to her young children what they were. The pictures also showed up on Twitter.

Navy officials told KREM that their aircraft were responsible.

“The Navy holds its aircrew to the highest standards and we find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value and we are holding the crew accountable,” the Navy said.

The Federal Aviation Administration also weighed in, with officials telling KREM that unless the act poses a safety risk, there is nothing they can do about it.

The FAA “cannot police morality,” an official said.
