Microsoft will begin shipping a new version of its Surface Pro tablet with LTE Advanced mobile connectivity for businesses in early December, the company’s devices chief Panos Panay announced this morning at its Future Decoded event in London.
The device was originally unveiled in May of this year, and the new version of Surface Pro without LTE was available starting in June. This generation of Surface Pro is a successor to the Surface Pro 4, although the company has stopped using version numbers with this device.
Microsoft will sell the Surface Pro with LTE Advanced starting at $1149 for a model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while a model with 8 GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will sell for $1,449. The device, which can be used as a laptop via an attachable keyboard, runs an Intel Core i5 processor.
As part of its quarterly earnings last week, Microsoft reported $1.037 billion in Surface revenue, up 12 percent, which the company credited to the new Surface Laptop, released earlier this year.
